30 Days of Truth: Day 10 – Letting Go

30 Days of Truth: Day 10 → Someone you need to let go, or wish you didn’t know

Let me just say this – I don’t believe in wishing that I ‘didn’t know’ someone or ‘never met’ someone. I firmly believe that there is a reason for every person that enters and exits your life. No matter how long they were there, or not there, their very existence in your story will have had some effect on you, no matter how tiny – it matters.

Audrey Hepburn said, “People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.”

Granted, it would have been great to have never met the Beach Family, since my father left my mother for Mrs. Beach. I often wonder what my life would be like if we had never met them. Maybe my parents would still be married and my mother wouldn’t be falling apart at the seams, unraveling faster than a pulled wool sweater. But I suppose if it weren’t her, it could have been someone else…and now I have a much clearer understanding of his character. This is just a series of ‘what ifs’ and ‘maybes’ though, and thinking about them won’t help me.

With her prior quote in mind, I’ll leave you with one more quote by Audrey Hepburn,

“”The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.”
